Online Processing of Medical Physics Manuscripts

All authors are expected to submit their articles online at http://medphys.peerx-press.org. However, there is provision for the rare author without adequate online access. He/she may still submit a manuscript in hardcopy but this must be accompanied by an electronic version on disk. Authors are discouraged from using this option, because it slows down the process of manuscript processing.

Once submitted online, the review process commences immediately. Potential Associate Editors and Referees are invited via email. They are given online access to the manuscript and may accept or decline the invitation online. Subsequent reviews and recommendations are submitted online. Finally, after acceptance, the manuscript is transmitted to the AIP for publication online.

By moving to online processing, the time it takes to move manuscripts from receipt to publication has been reduced by several months.
